The competition had a great turn out! The weather was hot hot hot! Around 90 degrees kept these ladies fanning themselves and shipping champagne. We noticed the trends of the day consisted of two colors! Bright green colors and coral…can’t go wrong with coral. Here’s some of the best dressed ladies:
From the Herald Sun:
Fashions on the field judge Rebecca White said the entrants demonstrated a great selection of “fast-forward fashion”.
“It was really lovely to see lots of bright pops of pinks and citrus and it was nice that a lot of the girls were a bit daring,” she said. Winner of the stylish ladies 40+ category was 40-year-old Vicki Petkoski from Kensington, who wore a dress from her own label Vezzano Couture. She wore an elegant spearmint green silk dress with a delicate tangerine lace overlay. Her hat was created by a milliner who used left over fabric from her dress to create the matching headwear.
Twenty-nine year old Zorza Goodman from Richmond claimed the winning spot for the Marvellous Millinery category. She said she was inspired by the bright pink and yellow colours in her dress to create the stylish headwear.
“I’m really overwhelmed,” Ms Goodman said after the win. “I spent 40 hours making my hat, which I hand painted, and I made headpieces for many of my friends here today.” Judge Peter Jago said Ms Goodman’s design was a standout entry this year.
Mt Martha local Rodney Paterson took the prize for the wining men’s outfit in the Stylish Gentlemen category. The 50-year-old investor wore a sleek grey Ted Baker suit paired with a striking navy and white striped shirt. A navy bow tie and woven hat finished his look.
Natasha Raleigh, 25, of Wattle Glen claimed the most coveted prize for the Stylish Ladies 18-40 category. The interior design student said it was the first time she had ever entered a Fashions on the Field competition.
