MAY 2023

Zoya Egan of Fashion at the Races to Judge the fashion contest at the Radnor Hunt on May 20th.

MAY 10, 2023 (Pennsylvania) – Be sure to wear pink on this occasion if you plan to compete in the fashion contest. The categories include Best Theme (pink), Best Fascinator, Best Dressed Man, and Best Child. The top prize for one lucky lady will be “something pink” from Hermes. Why Pink? How better to honor Skip Achuff’s memory— it is in this spirit that we find him where he would want to be… in the middle of it all! A Hop, Skip, and a Jump… Skip was a horseman his entire life. He was a jockey, race caller and true gentleman. He served as the Radnor Hunt Race’s Director for nearly two decades and was a fixture in the steeplechase world. His unwavering can-do attitude and positive outlook were absolutely inspirational. That skip guy was famous for wearing pink accessories, so as long as you incorporate something pink in your outfit, you are IN!

The Longines Prize for Elegance is the highest honor of the racing season around the world. This prize is only awarded 4 times annually in the United States at events including the Kentucky Oaks, Belmont Stakes, and on both days of the Breeders Cup. True fashionistas particularly LOVE the Breeders Cup because it lends them the opportunity to compete in 2 major fashion contests on 1 weekend. That’s right… 2 prizes for women and 2 prizes for men!

One of this year’s winners was Eve from County Kerry in Ireland. Eve is a milliner currently based in Dubai. So naturally, she created her own hat for the event. We absolutely LOVE her entire look!
