Saturday just gone saw the very first fashions on the field for 2014, and it also for the first time was the Qld final that awarded entry into the national final at the fabulous Melbourne spring carnival.
The event saw a fantastic turn out again as always and produced another very worthy winner, Stephanie Martin, that we are sure will feel right at home when she ventures down to Victoria for the national final. Ms Martin won the event in a dress that she purchased on eBay for $60! Again proving that it’ not necessary to spend thousands of dollars on an outfit to be crowned the best dressed at the track. With gorgeous orange making the dress pop and a stunning Mediterranean Sea blue keeping it grounded, it was a perfect outfit for the summer months.
And let’s not forget the men’s division! As always this too is becoming a hotly contested event in its own right, with the boys these days paying far more attention to detail and wearing current trends that appear in the fashion world. Kallan Burns was this year’s victor and made away with a fantastic little bunch of prizes for making sure he looked snappy on the Gold Coasts biggest race day of the year.
Mr. Burns proudly won the Magic Millions male prize for his raspberry-colored Politix blazer, pork pie hat and whimsical bow tie. We love seeing the gentleman getting involved in the fashion side of things at the races; it’s made it all so much better. And gentlemen, just a quick tip, keep it up because we ladies love a man who can dress well and standout.
Overall it was a fantastic day that was enjoyed by all and clearly showed the fashion world that things are not going to be slowing down in 2014, in fact, it’s only going to get better!
