2012 Trends That You Should Bring Into 2013

Peplums

Both shirts, dresses, and skirts, this look is feminine, constructed, and modern. You can tweek this everyday piece with accessories and also the fabric. More feminine? Pick a floral print paired with a pearl necklace. More of the Rocker type? Go for a leather peplum piece and pair with silver bold jewelry. Both looks perfect for the races!

Printed Bottoms

So for some reason pajamas found their place on the red carpet. Although some people took the trend too literal and looked like the rolled out of bed, with a glam squad, the idea of the printed pajama pants wasn’t all bad. Pajama pants, jeans, or  jeggings (leggings crossed with jeans) that have a great print can really take your outfit to the next level.  Make sure these pants are not TOO TIGHT…nothing bad then printed roses that look like they are wilting. ;)

Baroque

The Baroque era began in late 16th century Italy and thank goodness we remember it! This style incorporates a lot of golds and intertwining patterns. With this trend your clothes become the ‘centerpiece’ and usually serve for a conversation starter! If you don’t want to go all out Baroque from top to bottom,  just pick a great top that stands out and pair with a solid bottom. Millinery is a great way to incorporate this trend into your race day outfit! Roses, pearls, gold accents etc.

Stand out at the races with this trend!

Leather Accents

People used to make fun of the leather pants rock stars would wear on stage…well not anymore! Everyday girls head out of the house in leather skinny pants, or skirts, or of course the famous leather jacket! Even better though, leather is serving as an accent rather than the main course. Jackets are now served up with a rocker flair with leather sleeves, flowing dresses (BCBGMAXaria) paired with leather bands, and leggings with leather pieces. This is the perfect trend to go to if you’re feeling a bit dull in your wardrobe. Oh and its good for Spring, summer, and fall!

Perfect modern flair to the remembered vintage style at the races!
